The small town of Clarens in the Eastern Free State has become to go-to place for artists and art lovers.

Nestled in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains, Clarens enjoys breathtaking views provided by its close proximity to the Golden Gate National Park and the mountain kingdom of Lesotho.

Due to the sandstone rich surroundings, many of the buildings in Clarens is an ode to the craftsmanship of sandstone builders. The vast array of trees provides beautiful shows of nature’s power during each season - fruit trees blooming in spring and the autumn colours of the Lombard poplars.
