This vibrant suburb of Cape Town, just outside the city centre between Mouille Point, Green Point, and Bantry Bay, has become a bustling 24-hour cosmopolitan suburb that has drawn a number of executives to settle in its beachfront high-rises.
Neighbouring areas like De Waterkant, Green point and even Mouille Point are easily accessible via the bus, or even on foot.
The Sea Point promenade, which stretches for several kilometres along the Atlantic Ocean, is perhaps Sea Point’s most famous landmark, along with its public swimming pool at the Bantry Bay end.
Sea Point is divided by Main Road, with its many shops, takeaways, restaurants, clubs and coffee bars. Just about everything you need is found in this part of the city and it hums with activity. Up the slopes of Signal Hill, away from the Atlantic Ocean, lie large, private villas that fetch into the millions for their views and proximity to the centre of Cape Town.
In the other direction, lining the famous Sea Point promenade that draws locals and visitors for walking and jogging or just people-watching, are Sea Point’s luxury beachfront and self-catering apartments - popular with the young and trendy or those with small families.
Certainly a favourite of Cape Towns suburbs, Sea Point property is always in demand and rental demand is high.
Apartments are the bread and butter of the area, and the better the view the higher the price. The close proximity to Camps Bay and Clifton also ensures that these apartments make for great holiday investment properties.
There are larger homes further from the coastline, perfect for growing families.

Main Road
Main Road is thick with restaurants serving global cuisine – Greek, Italian, and all kinds of Asian – as well as bars, watering holes, and shops. It’s a road filled with character and quirkiness, from the 50s-style Franky’s Diner, which is open 24 hours a day, to Decodance, where you can boogie to hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
Camps Bay Primary School and High School are 10 minutes down the road in the direction of Camps Bay. Reddam House, a popular private school is also situated 5 min away in Green Point. The University Graduate school of business is close by as well and primary schools such as Ellerton and Sea Point Primary and Sea Point High School.
