More about Eric

I have been working as an estate agent for over 14 years. Besides real estate, I am passionate about the outdoors, sailing and the Drakensburg. I am an aspiring adventurer,
a passionate family man and proud organ donor. I am married to Elanza and I have a son Leo-Kevin and daughter Lienke Nova.
I completed the Comrades Marathon (2017) wearing a Spider-Man suit, where I represented Heart Kids South Africa. I also trained for more than a year in the superhero costume in morning rush hour traffic around the east of Pretoria, to create awareness around CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) and to raise money for little Elisa  (then 2.5 years old, she had already had 4 open-heart surgeries). This after my own son was born with a non-severe heart defect.
The Spider-Man suit is simply a metaphor for finding your power and knowing your responsibility. Anyone can make a difference.
In August and September 2018 I ran 1572km from Pretoria to Lüderitz, Namibia in 43 days. I was accompanied by Normie Eckard an adventurous paraplegic who completed 7 extreme adventures in 7 days early in 2018. My mission was to create awareness, and to encourage people to register as organ & tissue donor. #beaherbecomeanorgandonor
The Spinnekop 2018 project was officially endorsed by Organ Donor Foundation and the Centre for Tissue Engineering, and they actively promoted the campaign during August(organ donor awareness month).
