Beautiful Wild Figs are found in the rocky outcrop areas, while the higher ground provides Red Bushwillow and beautiful views over Selati. The property also has a number of dams and a 1265m runway for added convenience, on the neighbour’s property which can be used.
Management of the reserve is by way of a constitution. The vision and purpose of Selati Private Game Reserve is to create an enduring legacy by conserving and enhancing the biodiversity of the ecosystem through the astute and sustainable management of resources. The reserve was initially comprised of cattle farms. In time the reserve was formed and game was introduced. Over the years game breeding and sales were encouraged and a focus; but there is a move now to commercial lodge activity and preservation of games species and the natural environment. Game numbers are managed through and annual aerial game count and recommendations by the Agricultural Research Council- Animal production institute.
