Moditlo is a 3200ha private game reserve within the Blue Canyon Game Conservancy. Owners will have access to drive around Moditlo Reserve, while the animals enjoy free roaming throughout the whole conservancy. The conservancy is home to a wide variety of plains game including lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, wild dog, hyena and cheetah. There are around 110km of roads for access to home owners and game viewing. The reserve has two dry riverbeds that run through it and this provides perfect condition for large bushveld trees and excellent game viewing and bird watching. There are a variety of bushveld terrains on Moditlo including plains and riverine.
Moditlo is located 14 km from Hoedspruit and part of the Kruger to Canyons UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. On the 20th of September 2001 the Kruger to Canyons (K2C) Biosphere Reserve was registered in Paris by UNESCO. It became the 411th Biosphere Reserve site to be registered in 94 countries worldwide, acknowledging the global significance of Greater Kruger bioregion, the eastern savannahs and escarpment of South Africa. K2C has 1.4 million ha dedicated to long-term conservation (898 300 ha of formally protected area and 400 000 ha of private owned conservation land). The entire registered Biosphere Reserve area is 2.5 million ha.
