Hatfield property guide

Hatfield at a glance

For many people, Hatfield has become known as the embassy suburb because of the inclination of embassies to move into the large homes in this stately area. But don’t think that this area is only business as Hatfield is also very popular with students at the University of Pretoria. This lends a vibrant atmosphere to the leafy suburb.

Hatfield lies in the heart of Pretoria, just outside the city centre between Arcadia and Lynnwood. The suburb is in close proximity to the world-class University of Pretoria, “The Church” of rugby Loftus Versfeld (which is home to Blue Bulls rugby team) and the recently constructed Gautrain Station.

This suburb boasts with a lot of restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. Hatfield is only five kilometers from Pretoria’s city centre, this allows residents to enjoy a day out at the various monuments, museums, old buildings, and green spaces.

Property in this area ranges from the stately older homes of an era gone by to the ultra-modern new developments which continue to pop up as the demand for property in the area grows.

In recent years property development in the heart of Hatfield across from the University has seen state-of-the-art student accommodation pop-up. These buildings usually offer premium services such as in-house laundromats, WiFi and more. Making the transition from home to student life a little easier.
