The leafy green village with its tranquil lifestyle and picturesque surroundings is one of the most sought-after residential areas that lie in the hills above Durban.

The lush suburb is a welcoming oasis from the sometimes extreme humidity of Durban, virtually bordering the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve and cut through by a ravine along which the Molweni streams in a series of cascades and waterfalls. Here birdlife and an abundance of green foliage add to the allure of the mist belt that often shrouds the area in mystery.

Homes are tasteful and gardens abundant - it’s little wonder that residents have chosen to live here and commute to the city to benefit from the sheer splendour of the area.

The majority of buyers in this area are family buyers and older, offering growing families a quiet area and large gardens for children or grandchildren to run around and play in. Amenities in the area include schools and shopping centres - however with Durban’s close proximity, you won’t be left wanting for anything.

The Krantzkloof reserve, just four kilometres from the centre of Kloof, offers some awesome views across the forested gorge and most of the reserve’s 500 odd hectares are covered by dense indigenous forest, a haven for wildlife. A wonderful picnic area next to the dam at the head of Kloof Falls is an attractive option for a weekend. From here there are various walks that descend into the gorge, following the course of the Molweni River.
